you need to suffer in your training as
you start to run longer the number of
variables that you’re in can encounter
is going to increase and there might be
hallucinations there might be
gastrointestinal issues it might be
cramps so you need to get out you need
to run far you need to run hard and then
whenever you come to running ultra
marathon you’ll find these incidences
easier to deal with at the time so get
out and suffer tip number two is to get
out and hike here in the UAE most of the
roads are flat and if you do an ultra
marathon you might have lots of
elevation gain lots of up and lots of
done so you can get out into the
mountains spend lots of time hiking
slowly and become more efficient in that
discipline because when you do an ultra
marathon you’re gonna spend some time
walking the faster you can walk the
faster you’ll be overall point number
three is to eat know when you run long
you need to eat a lot more fuel than if
you’re running a 10k marathon half
marathon I turned it in for 60 grams of
carbs per hour
now most people that don’t finish an
ultra marathon it’s not because they
can’t do the running it’s usually
because they have some sort of stomach
issue so what I advise practice eating
and training eat a lot and eat
frequently and the last point there’s
going to be lots of peaks and troughs in
this race at some stage you’re gonna
feel incredibly fantastic you’re gonna
feel amazing but then maybe five minutes
later you’re gonna feel awful and just
like you want to quit the race that is
fully natural just remember you signed
up for this race you want to run an
ultra marathon and ultimately you’re
here to have fun so just smile enjoy it
and then sign up for another one
afterwards
so those points again you need to suffer
in training you need to hike you need to
eat and you need to enjoy the risk hope
